Fun at sunset!
Michelle and her husband won a Belle Amie Studios gift certificate at a local auction a few months ago! She brought her family to Tablerock Beach and we had fun photographing their 12 year old daughter and 9 year old son. Some of the prettiest shoots we do are at sunset. The kids enjoyed playing in the water and sand until the sun dipped below the horizon! We are so glad we met this new family and hope to see them again soon.
It feels like Christmas-Part 2
The second half of JJ’s first birthday photo shoot included his family. JJ, Mom, Dad, and big sister Emma trekked down to the beach for some fun and Christmas photos. I love how both kids dressed, it got me in the mood for the upcoming holiday season. Emma brought along her Minnie Mouse doll, who I learned is treated like another member of the family. Emma does not leave home without her. She didn’t make it into any blog photos but her presence was felt throughout the shoot. The photos under the pier were my favorite this year. Emma and JJ chased each other around the beams and when JJ did finally catch up to Emma the laughter amongst both was contagious.
And baby makes….five!
Jimmy and Tara came in today for maternity photos. The two are excited to add another addition to their family. Both Tara and Jimmy both have daughters who are the same age. The great part about that is they are each others best friends and can’t wait to be start being big sisters to their new brother or sister. We started the session in Studio and Tara looks amazing. Maternity photos are some of my favorite sessions because the soon-to-be parents are overcome with anticipation, joy, and happiness, and all of that and more inevitably shows up in the photos. We ended our session down at the beach. Tara was getting into being a model so much and was enjoying frolicking in the waves that she wasn’t paying attention when a big wave snuck up behind her and soaked her from head to toe. The pictures are priceless and we all had a good laugh about it all.

On Leave….
We photographed the this wonderful family this past weekend down in Table Rock Beach, in Laguna Beach for a particularly special occasion. Dad was on leave from active duty and home to share some quality time with his family before he has to head out again. Their oldest son is headed off to college next year which made this session even more special. I love the turquoise color the girls chose to wear for the water was the perfect matching shade too. The family is truly close, all with very warm personalities, and Belle Amie Studios was happy to take part in creating this memory for them.
Table Rock Time!
We spent the weekend down at Table Rock Beach in Laguna Beach with the Aase boys! Their family has been coming to Belle Amie Studios since they were babies. To see familiar faces year after year is the best part of being a photographer. I love seeing how much the children and family has grown over the course of a year. The boys personalities were joyous for they are both at ages where life is still just one big playground. The boys were holding hands and making each other laugh. Smiles, laughter, and silly faces were not hard to come by.
Copper Family at Crystal Cove
The Coopers have been coming to Belle Amie Studios for years. This time around we spent our session at Crystal Cove Beach. I love these two little girls. Don’t they almost look like they are from another era or time? They have such a unique look to them, one I can’t really but my finger on. Both parents hail from Europe and I love to hear them speak to each other. I thought it was fitting (and very European) that the girls were itching to be in their birthday suits by the end of the session. Who am I to object?
The Wedge and some sand…it’s not what you’re thinking!
I love to be able to start in studio and them move on location. Studio time tends to be the warm up for the session and then the craziness ensues on location.
First on our agenda today was pictures of the Johnson family at Belle Amie Studios. Check. Next head over the the Wedge for some family fun. Check. Nice weather. Check. Get wet. Check. Laugh. Check check. We all had a great time.
Shelly and her husband are awaiting their second child and decided before things got to hectic to enjoy a day with me out at the beach with their 13 month old son, Cayden. Cayden was a huge fan of the sand, I think we even captured a few images of him eating the sand. That can’t be too good! I’m sure this would be the perfect thing to teach your new baby brother or sister.
Laguna Beach Summer Photo Sessions
This beach shoot was filled with such beautiful water and sunlight. I love the golden days of summer, taking pictures in Laguna Beach, California. How lucky we are to live in such a beautiful world, and how great that I get to take photos of beautiful people. It’s really the very best job in the world.

Maternity session with Cara!
Today we shot maternity photos with Cara and her husband Rick. Wow we had such a great time. I love my job,especially when it comes to shoots like this. It was like we weren’t even working. Cara and Rick were so much fun!. Cara works at Salon HQ in Huntington Beach, Ca and has been one of Belle Amie Studios hairdressers for many years. We started out at our studio and then headed down to Crystal Cove State Park for some more intimate beach shots. www.crystalcovestatepark.com

Engagement Photos with Beccadam!!
We got the opportunity to travel up to San Luis Obispo, Ca and shoot engagement photos for a really cute couple, Rebecca and Adam. In Hollywood terms they refer to themselves as Beccadam!! Sooo, cute! We photographed at a beautiful beach location called Olso Flaco, and it provided us with scenic views, clear blue skies, and soft sandy beaches. Rebecca and Adam were awesome models! They have been together for six years and they met through a mutual friend. (It’s great to have friends like that!) Adam is a musician and wrote all the lyrics for their upcoming wedding in Malibu Canyon, CA. We can’t wait to hear all the special tunes!
